Wear your retainer's according to the guidelines set by Dr. Nizam for you.
You should remove your retainers when eating. Please don't wrap your retainers in a paper towel when eating as this will get thrown away (most retainers are lost this way)
Clean retainers thoroughly twice a day with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Use warm but not hot water. Using a toothbrush to clean your retainers will remove the plaque, and eliminate odors. Efferdent or other orthodontic appliance cleaners can be used, but this does not take the place of brushing.
When retainers are not in your mouth they should ALWAYS be in a retainer case. Pets love to chew on them!
Retainers are breakable, so treat them with care. If retainers are lost or broken call us immediately.
Initially, you may find it difficult to speak. Practice speaking, reading, or singing out loud to get used to them faster
Call us, if you have any questions or concerns about your retainers.
Call us, if your retainers need adjusting. Do not try to adjust them yourself.
Always bring your retainers to your appointments.
Retainer replacement is expensive; so take good care of them and they will last for years!
Keep your retainers away from hot water, hot car dashboards, pockets, the washing machine, and napkins.
